Who is Peppermint Jim
A story of ethics & organics
Peppermint Jim is more than a name—it’s a living legacy. As a fourth-generation distiller from Crosby Mint Farms (est. 1912), Jim carries forward over a century of tradition, craftsmanship, and integrity.
His journey began at just nine years old, working side by side with his father, J.E. Crosby. Jim’s earliest tasks—starting the fire in the boiler and keeping the steam alive—taught him patience, persistence, and respect for the process. By the age of twelve, he was already in the fields, driving tractors, pulling weeds, and hauling mint tanks—immersed in every detail of farm life.

By twenty, Jim was running the distillery himself. The system was low-tech and antiquated, with no manuals and no shortcuts—only generational wisdom, grit, and intuition. Through hard work and determination, Jim transformed that heritage into a passion for creating something pure, powerful, and unforgettable.

Today, the Peppermint Jim brand continues that legacy—offering raw, unpasteurized mint oil and natural body care products that embody authenticity, tradition, and wellness.
But Jim’s story goes beyond mint. Known for his generosity, he has dedicated himself to uplifting his community through philanthropy and random acts of kindness. A strong believer in sustainability, he was even recognized by the State of Michigan as Recycler of the Year and continues to champion environmental preservation and animal rescue initiatives.
For Jim, it’s not just about mint—it’s about living with purpose, giving back, and inspiring others to do the same.
